Wolves Across Borders Special Issue
Submitted by editor on 13 June 2025.
Wildlife Biology is proud to be the official outlet of the Wolves Across Borders 2025!
The first Wolves Across Borders conference took place in Stockholm in 2023. It was the first wolf ecology conference ever to attempt to be global. Delegates came from 32 different countries, and most geographical areas were covered.
The conference resulted in the largest single issue published in Wildlife Biology’s history!
Now we invite papers for the next Special Issue, as an outcome of the Wolves Across Borders 2025, held in the Netherlands.
Guest editors: Luigi Boitani (Italy), Joseph Bump (USA), Thomas Gable (USA), Pavel Hulva (Czech Republic), Dries Kuijper (Poland), Sandra Lai/Claudio Sillero (UK), Maurice la Haye (the Netherlands), Camilla Wikenros (Sweden), Barbara Zimmermann (Norway).
This Special Issue welcomes high-quality theoretical, empirical, and practical articles on all aspects of wolf science, from wolf ecology and behavior to the social and governance dimensions of wolf management.
Submissions open 9 June 2025.
Deadline for submissions: 30 November 2025.
Note that papers included in a special issue are on average more downloaded and read than an average paper. By being part of a special issue, your research will get greater visibility and outreach, and ultimately more citations.
Submissions should adhere to the journal's formatting and citation style guidelines. All manuscripts will undergo peer review by experts in the field to ensure scientific rigor and quality. Please note that by submitting a paper to a special issue does to guarantee acceptance of the paper.
Once a paper is ready, it will be published on Early View, and therefore does not have to wait on publication until all papers in the Special Issue are ready.
