Open call for for papers on grouse ecology
Submitted by editor on 6 March 2026.
Wildlife Biology Journal is proud to be the official scientific outlet of the 16th International Grouse Symposium!
Wildlife Biology Journal hereby invites papers for a Special Issue for the Grouse Symposium held in Hamar, Norway 31 August to 4 September 2026. Note that you do not have to participate in the symposium to be able to submit a paper.
This Special Issue welcomes high-quality theoretical, empirical, and practical articles on all aspects of grouse science, from grouse grouse populations, ecology, and conservation to practical approaches of grouse management, including habitat restoration, monitoring, and policy.
Guest editor: Erlend Nilsen (Norway).
Submissions open 31 August. Deadline for submissions: to be announced.
Note that papers included in a special issue are on average more downloaded, read and cited than an average paper. By being part of a special issue, your research will get greater visibility and outreach, and ultimately more citations.
Submissions should adhere to the journal's formatting and citation style guidelines. All manuscripts will undergo peer review by experts in the field to ensure scientific rigor and quality. Please note that by submitting a paper to a special issue does not guarantee acceptance of the paper.
Once a paper is ready, it will be published on Early View, and therefore does not have to wait on publication until all papers in the Special Issue are ready.
