International Moose Symposium Special Issue

Submitted by editor on 24 July 2025.

Wildlife Biology is proud to be the official outlet of the International Moose Symposium 2025!

We hereby invite papers for a Special Issue, as an outcome of the International Moose Symposium 2025 in Östersund, Sweden. You do not have to attend the conference in order to submit a paper.

Guest editors: Karolina D. Jasińska (Poland), Christer Kale'n (Sweden), Wiebke Neumann (Sweden), Brent Patterson (Canada), Pete Pekins (USA)

This Special Issue welcomes high-quality theoretical, empirical, and practical articles on all aspects of moose science, from moose ecology and behavior to the social and governance dimensions of moose management.

Submissions open: 30 June 2025.

Deadline for submissions: 30 November 2025.

Note that papers included in a special issue are on average more downloaded and read than an average paper. By being part of a special issue, your research will get greater visibility and outreach, and ultimately more citations.

Submissions should adhere to the journal's formatting and citation style guidelines. All manuscripts will undergo peer review by experts in the field to ensure scientific rigor and quality. Please note that by submitting a paper to a special issue does to guarantee acceptance of the paper.

Once a paper is ready, it will be published on Early View, and therefore does not have to wait on publication until all papers in the Special Issue are ready.
