The editor’s choice is the article by Lennox et al.: “Predation research with electronic tagging

In the early days of wildlife telemetry, using VHF receivers and hand-held antennas, the loss of a tagged animal due to predation was more of a nuisance than an interesting data point. Today, electronic tags and integrated sensors specifically calibrated for identifying predation, as well as specific analytical tools are increasingly developing telemetry into an excellent approach to better understand the where, when, and how of predation.

In this paper, Robert Lennox and co-authors synthesize the state-of-the-art in using telemetry for detecting predation. Their review covers a broad spectrum of study settings in terrestrial and aquatic systems. It will be a valuable reference for future researchers of predator-prey interactions.
