Submitted by editor on 29 March 2021.

My name is Shin-Jae Rhim, and I am joining the editorial board of Wildlife Biology. It is my great pleasure and honorable for me. I am looking forward to reading the articles that will be submitted to the journal as a new subject editor.

I studied wildlife ecology at Seoul National University in South Korea. During my PhD, I worked with the distribution, behavior ecology and habitat use of hazel grouse. I have been a professor of animal ecology and behavior at School of Bioresource and Bioscience, Chung-Ang University, South Korea since 2003. My research is focused on the relationship between animals (birds and mammals) and their habitats. I have worked in many research projects on breeding ecology, population dynamics, community ecology and habitat use of wildlife including endangered species in South Korea and east Asian countries. I became a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology in 2016. Now, I am the dean at Office of Academic and Student Affairs, Chung-Ang University, South Korea.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking with my two toy poodles and spend time with my wife and two children. Moreover, I like watching movies and listening to classical music.
